Pippita Rail Trail

Repurposing a hidden gem at Sydney Olympic Park.

The Pippita Rail Trail occupies a closed three-kilometre rail line which once serviced the state brickworks, abattoirs and Homebush saleyards. As part of Cumberland City Council’s long term strategic vision, the trail is to be redeveloped as an active transport link between Lidcombe and Sydney Olympic Park.

The Pippita Rail Trail will provide a high-quality active transport link that will facilitate safe walking and cycling routes and green spaces along the way with significant references to the locality’s history.

The APP Group is working with Place Design Group as Planning Lead for the project, providing strategic advisory services and informing its planning assessment.

The project is funded under the State Government’s ‘Get Active Program’.
